Google´s New Search UI (And How To Check It Out From Outside The US)
Google is about to release a major redesign for their holy grail, the search UI. The new logo gets rid of playful shadow effects, buttons call to action more clearly and search options will be displayed right next to the search results by default. Unfortunately, those search options don´t work very consistently yet.
In combination with their new, supposably faster search algorithm "Caffeine" (due in 2010), Google gets its core ready for the future. It´s a smart move. To check out the new UI from outside the US, do the following: 1. Be logged out of your Google account.2. Set a cookie by copying this in your browser bar. Hit enter.javascript:void(document.cookie="PREF=ID=20b6e4c2f44943bb:U=4bf292d46faad806:TM=1249677602:LM=1257919388:S=odm0Ys-53ZueXfZG;path=/; domain=.google.com");3. Visit the American version of google.com. Via: verspiegelte Netzwelt.
